| A Guide to Governor Training, Support and Guidance 2006 - 2007

Welcome to the Governor website outlining the services and developments available to Lincolnshire Governors. This website is managed by The Lincolnshire School Improvement Service who are working with Lincolnshire County Council to support Governors throughout Lincolnshire.
A recent survey of Governors led by Tim Lomas, Principal School Improvement Adviser, identified a number of suggestions for a coherent and improved Governor Service. The survey also highlighted the need for more streamlined communications and the establishment of a website.
At present, the website is under development although some elements are already available. Features will be added throughout the coming months, some of which will be available to all and to others through a password. The password will be available to those who purchase a
Governor Training Agreement (GTA).
The Senior Officer recently appointed to develop the Governor Services is Howard Mence. Howard first worked with Governors in Warwickshire in the early 1990's. Since then he has been involved with Governor support and training in Leicestershire and more recently in Lincolnshire. He will play a leading role in expanding and developing a service which is responsive to the needs of Lincolnshire Governors. The aim is to launch this Service in April 2007.
